ADMISSION TO ALL LIBRARY EVENTS IS FREE AND NON-AMERICYMRU MEMBERS ARE VERY WELCOME

To coincide with the Left Coast Eisteddfod Portland Central Library will be holding a Welsh Library Month in August. There will be a glass display case in the foyer area which will display works by Welsh Authors that are available from the library together with short reviews. There will be a number of events in the weeks leading up to the Eisteddfod on August the 22nd. Wednesday August 19th

Enjoy Welsh language poetry with John Good. John was born in South Wales, into a house where the Welsh language was spoken. Over the past twenty years, he has given bilingual presentations on Welsh culture, sharing poetry, music and literature. Wed Aug 19th 12-1 p.m. ADMISSION FREE.

As part of the program authors Niall Griffiths and Chris Keil will be presenting a reading/Q&A session at the library on Thursday August 20th between 12 and 2. ADMISSION FREE

If you're in Portland, multcolib.org has tons of books on Wales, Welsh genealogy resources, books by Welsh authors (need some Lloyd Jones and more Rhys Hughes and Niall Griffiths, tho, dammit!) and a lot of kids and young adult by Welsh authors.
