I put this page together as a guide for anyone who is considering migrating to the Linux operating system. It is designed as a simple and straightforward introduction to the Linux command line. It is a work in progress and further instalments will appear in the coming weeks.

I am in the process of transferring all my Linux material from http://www.furtivepenguin.net to http://lxenduser.blogspot.com/. As the transfer progresses the new (old) material will become available in the RSS feed on this page. Despite the enormous quantities of garbage and splogs to be found on blogger.com I still believe it to be one of the most convenient and efficient blogging platforms available. I have enjoyed running the b2evolution blogging engine on my own server but just dont have the time to concern myself with upgrades and regular database backups.

I accept no responsibility for the outcome should anyone decide to experiment with any of the scripts on the blog. Some of them are deliciously buggy. Some of them work perfectly (almost). None of them will harm your system but be warned ...they may cause amusement and intense guffawing and chuckling.
