Good timing! I'm finalizing plans to go to Cardiff at the beginning of April next year. I'll be staying with friends for the most part, but I'm sure I'll want to get out into the countryside for a couple days as well! :-)

Diolch!

Just in case anyone is curious, the lighthouse that is the logo of this group is the Nash point lighthouse in Glamorganshire. I believe that it is also available for let, either through the National Trust or Trinity House (light house organization) perhaps. The views overlooking the Bristol channel are absolutely stunning. I have no idea of the terms.

If you're ever going to Vancouver BC (most beautiful city I've ever seen) we stayed a couple of years ago at Thisteldown House and it was PERFECT. Man, I want to go back! The couple that runs it are absolutely lovely, she's from Switzerland and her family ran hotels and stuff for generations and either she or both of them are gourmet cooks so breakfast every morning was absolutely amazing. It wasn't too expensive, it was extremely comfortable and peaceful and I loved it. And it's within walking distance of the Capilano Suspension Bridge, which is really cool. I really want to go back, it's only a 5 hour drive for us, and stay in this one room which looks out onto the garden and a big, old apple tree, ah!

What do you guys think of making a discussion on here on house swapping? If you want to do it, you can head your entry like:

"AVAILABLE: 2 bdrm Portland OR USA" or "WANTED: 3 bdrm Cardiff" and then give more information like when and what you're looking to swap for?

I'm actually closer to the Pacific Ocean, so if anyone wants to come out this way, let me know. I could help arrange a stay close to Huntington Beach "Surf City" if the time is right.
Anyone have recommendations for Northern part of Wales?
