I think Rhyd has another hit.

I just got the new release and am playing for the second time. There isn't a track on the album which doesn't reflect the man, Rhydian. I like every track, including Annie's song, which I have always associated with John Denver.

His unique voice and expression come through loud and clear. His songs with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Bryn Terfel add to his mystique in being able to be an assertive voice. The quiet but present harp accompaniment really adds to Annie's song.

For being a novice at song selection and production, he shows his musical strength and talent. He's more than a singer, he's a musician.

I have to applaud his willingness to step out of the mold of pop music and make his own statement even if it doesn't exactly fit the current of popular thought. His "religious" pieces show his reverence as well as his love of classical music.

If you don't have this CD, I recommend getting it , you'll get a lot of pleasure from it.

I had thought Conquest of Paradise would be a strange solo, but after listening to this, I realise that Rhyd's version will probably be absolutely fantastic !

I've put a poll on the group page. I'll change it weekly and report the results of the previous week. I realize that the CD is not out yet, but it gives us something to do while we wait for it. I will probably have to wait a week longer that you, depending on the post.
