The Best Welsh Bands, Individual Performers Of All Time....

I'm absolutely positive that the best current Welsh band out there are the Stereophonics.....and from the recent past.....hmm, Badfinger comes to mind. I know it's hard, but do your best.

my vote for the best live act goes to penarths faboulous rocking backbeats , the real mothership of rock and roll of the sixties , their live three hour show was realy somthing to see , kind of like chuck berry meets lord sutch . james brown and slade rolled up into one greasy rockin low flying aircraft

Ok, now I'm gonna be late for my meeting but I'll see you a "losing sun" and I'll raise you a "CALANSHO". Talk about a 3 hour set! I saw these guys in the Anglesey Arms in Caernarfon last April and they played a stadium set - Incredible. I stole the playlist and it had 17 songs on it! Check them out and then I'll be back with more WELSH MUSIC GODS!!!!!!!

Prefer the Manics to the Stereophonics. Used to really like Murray The Hump, the Keys are alright. Want to get the new GLC CD, am lazy about buying online though, Skep are getting better with every CD, the new one Sgep is the best yet.

Best of all time though is difficult to say... for durability, chest hair, and being a right dirty old man the award has to go with Sir Tom.

The first Welsh band I ever listened to was Ar Log. I still enjoy listening to them. Current folk band favorite is Carreg Lafar.
Best individual, and there are many, has to be Dafydd Iwan. I was in a pub in Milwaukee at the NAFOW several years back. Dafydd Iwan sang until 2AM. When we were leaving there was a black female security guard waiting for him. "I couldn't understand the words, but I understood the soul". That says it all.
