There is so much circumstantial evidence that it would have been possible for Madoc to have completed such a journey. Why for instance were there soooo many rumours of a dialect of Welsh being spoken? It was physically possible with the wooden boats…

Hello Peter, can you conclusively prove that Madoc DID NOT visit America. It would be an interesting topic. Best..................... Bee

Hello Bee,
I'm rather late, I know but have been so busy I have not been keeping up with the site but I'm back now. Just wanted to say I hope you are completely better. And to wish you a Happy Christmas

Hello Bee,
You'll be surprised to read this as so much time has gone by. I've been up to my eyes trying to combine writing with publishing. I'm probably the very smallest publisher in Wales and am still learning the ropes. It started by having to become technically a publisher so the printers would deal with me to publish a b/w edition of And Thereby Hangs a Tail [I'd got tired or doing all the printing and bookbinding to keep up the stock of the coloured edition]. The upshot of that was that the friend who kindly formatted said book for me asked me to publish his second book of short stories - The Other End of the Rainbow - which I did and was then asked to publish anothe, a novel this time, for another friend in France. This was and is Rachel Sarai's Vineyard and it is now out in the world much to my relief. It is on Amazon UK but so far Amazon.com only shows it if one searches for the author Deborah Rey. Otherwise the version that comes up is a previous abortive publication by another publisher now unavailable. It is all an interesting learning curve.

Hi Bee,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I moved from Kenfig Hill to sunny Spain in 2004, a move that I have not regretted. I have recently been investigating my family history through Ancestors.Co. , and have discovered my family connections with the area. Prior to my researching, all I knew was my father telling me that his grandfather moved from Cwmafan to the steel works in Hendy. The other information from my father was that Sian Phillips, the acress also hails from Cwmafan, and that we are distantly connected, but I havn't established any details yet.

Thank you so much, Bee. I've since added some titles/descriptions on photos and will try to add more soon. Good luck on your travels, where are you going?

The address on the envelope was a bit dificult to decypher, as my gg-grandfather had poor script. It appeared to say: 26 Meurian/Marian St. Clydach Vale. Zip codes apparently weren't in use yet on either side of the pond.

Hello Bee. Thanks for your friendship. My great-grandfather was from around the Skewen area, so I am told. I found a street address on a letter that was sent to him by his father, but it is from 1899. I seriously doubt that the street name or house are still around. I tried looking for it on the mapquest, but came up with nothing. Have a great day.
