At 1:27am on August 14, 2008, Gareth Williams said…: cheers for that Becks, me and the boys were training for a competition called Cambrian Patrol set in Wales and has an international flavour, bit like the military version of Llangollen international eisteddfod, we get your Rangers and Marines on it but they havent beaten us yet, a mountain unit came close though. The Italian Alpino Regiment always do well. As do the Swiss. The patrol is a 80 km hike with full kit weighing around 30kilos, done within a window of 48 hrs in sections of 8 men, not so much a race, points to be got at checkpoints where there is a task to be completed, so you got to be good at map reading, the locations change each year
