Dear Cristele....re: the pic, "On the Way to the Pub"... you know, surprisingly, not too many looks at all!... partly, I think 'cause Chicago is such a big city and the locals don't even notice such shenanigans...and also, there was just a ton of Welsh (all in red) in town then (not necessarily in Kilts though!), but no, no goofy looks!... I wore that kilt to a Sir Tom Jones concert in San Francisco a few months ago, too, and nobody even looked at me there either!....

I apologize for taking some time to write back. As I just explained to another person on the site, I have been finishing my masters degree and working and have been very, very busy. I would love to talk to your sister living in Hunters Creek. That's not too very far from where I am....talk to you soon, Margaret

Profile Information

Relationship Status:
Single
About Me:
I have very strong emotional links to Wales, it's my spiritual home, and I feel right now that I couldn't really live in any other country for very long. Father was from a Welsh-speaking family in Mid-Glamorgan, by profession a Surveyor and City Planner, but a writer and poet at heart. Sadly, he passed away in 1992. Our family lived in Newfoundland, Canada for some years where Dad was working, returning to Europe to live in the late 60s. I have 3 younger sisters who meanwhile all live in the USA, two of them near Atlanta, one in Orlando. I visit from time to time, but so far the pull of Wales has not let me settle there near them. Must be the Hiraeth! But - never say never! I do feel more Welsh than anything else though... only in Wales do I feel really at home and myself.
What is your interest in or connection to Wales?
I am Welsh on my father's side, mother British national too but of German descent. Spent my childhood to almost age 12 in Wales (near Brecon, Powys), normally live in South Wales but presently in Germany to assist our dear Mum, now 82.
