I hope you'll be able to join us at the St. David's Day dinner in Albany on March 1st.
Katharine, also in NY State
I would highly advise you to go and see this:
Jon Langford & the Burlington Welsh Male Chorus
Wednesday September 17, 09:30pm
Knitting Factory
74 Leonard Street
New York, NY 10013
www.ticketmaster.com/artist/1237875
Langford is the former drummer of the late 70's punk band 'The Mekons', but has lived in Chicago since the early 90's where he formed the successful Chicago bands the 'Waco Bros', 'The Pine Valley Cosmonauts' and the kids band 'Wee Hairy Beasties'. Langford has also been a regular contributor to the NPR radio show 'This American Life' and was a host for many years on Chicago's radio XRT.
Langford leads the mainly expatriate Burlington Welsh Male Chorus in Tom Jones covers, tracks from his own CD's, as well as some classic Welsh songs. This mixture of songs has worked really well and has drawn in large and diverse audiences in Chicago and Toronto.
If you have a chance to get out and see this I highly recommend that you do so. This isn't your usual male voice choir fare, it is something a bit different.
Please consider taking our online Welsh language course "The Lingo". It begins 8-25-08. check it out at www.rio.edu/lingo. Contact me at welsh@rio.edu if you want more info.

Our Pub Night is Friday, Sept 12 in Chatham. Let me know if you can make it and I'll find out the time, etc. And Robert's local Welsh classes start Sept. 15th in Albany--I"m guessing that's too far to get to every 2 weeks. I've heard good things about the Rosetta Stone series.
You might also want to "friend" the Welsh Society of the Capital District here on Americymru--Robert Jones is the page holder.
Hwyl
Dave
