About Me:
My Welsh ancestry goes back to Thomas Edwards, who emmigrated from Wales early in the 18th century to Virginia. From then it's Thomas, Jr., John, Morris, Reuben Hardy, Joseph Jackson, Joseph W Edwards (my grandfather).

My interests are in learning the language and in contemporary Druidry and the bardic arts. I am currently an OBOD bard, living in Woodburn, Oregon, with my wife Lynn.

What is your interest in or connection to Wales?
My interests in Wales are genealogical (wish me luck on this one!), history, the Mabinogion, Arthurian and Grail legends, and in establishing a bardic chair for the West Coast of North America and perhaps a regional one for the Pacific Northwest. I am also a big Ar Log fan and am learning to discover the new groups and music of Wales as well.

Hello Dean,
Nice to have a new friend! And so nearby too...I'm not familiar with where Woodburn is, but if it's near Portland it must be beautiful! I live in the high desert so rain and the color green are not things I see alot.
Thanks for the greeting and take care!

Thomas Edwards settled in
VA as a yound man/indentured servant, worked off his debt, and married. He lived in VA the rest of his life. I do not know where he came from in Wales. However, I have had a dna test, so who knows, eh?

Hi Dean... Portland Oregon here. Originally from Cardiff. Croeso i Americymru. Gaabriel and I created this site less than a year ago as a Social and friendship site for the Welsh, Welsh ex-pats, persons of Welsh descent and Cymruphiles around the world. It has grown considerably since its foundation and we would like to extend a warm welcome to you....our latest member. Feel free to invite any friends that you think would be interested in joining. The network has many features which allow people with a shared love of Wales to communicate and share photos, videos, links, blogposts etc and we will be adding new features from time to time. Make yourself right at home. Once again...
