It looks like I failed to greet you when you first came to this web site, so please allow me to correct that unintentional oversight now: Hail and well met! Welcome to Americymru, soon to be your favorite website! Hopefully :-) Check out the various interest groups, and the videos and music... wonderful stuff. And there are a lot of nice people here too. Hope you like what you find! Blessings to you this day.

Hi, Diana! I know you--from Cwrs Cymraeg in Albany! How have you been since then? All is good here with our group--Robert's Welsh classes start up in a month. And I took his Welsh language/literature class at the college where he is a professor.

HI Diana,

You live in SF. How cool is that! Plus, you speak AND TEACH Welsh. I would love to learn but I have no time this summer.
I'm working on a film about a Scottish fiddler and in my spare time dance Scottish Country. When things slow down this winter, I will email you:)

Thanks for contacting me and adding me as a friend. Hope to meet you sometime.

Best,

Victoria

lol...yeah the cat thing ispart of a spoof article we did over on the static site about giant cats being sighted in Wales http://www.americymru.com/newsfromwales/cathod.html
As far as advertising goes...please have at it. We positively encourage people to advertise services and businesses on their profiles if they have Welsh relevance and anything to do with the language is of course especially welcome. All we ask in return is that you invite anyone who you think might be interested to join the group. We want to make this as lively a place as possible for people who are Welsh, of Welsh descent or who have an interest in, or passion for the Welsh culture and heritage to keep in touch and meet new friends.

I will attempt an email in Welsh some time soon. But I need to prsctice a little first....lol. Its been a while.

I may take you up on the Welsh email thing. I was born and bred in South East wales at a time when Welsh just wasnt on the syllabus. In later years I came to resent that bitterly. I learned a little as an adult learner a few years ago but still my grasp is pretty basic. Once again...Croeso i Americymru.

About Me:
I lived in South Wales for two years where I studied and then taught Welsh to adult learners. After getting kicked out of the country, I moved sullenly back to California where I occasionally teach Welsh to adults. Because it is hard to find Welsh teachers here in the states, I am willing to travel to nearby states to host intense Welsh weekends! (so fun!) Please feel free to contact me if you would like to practice emailing in Welsh or if you have a group interested in doing an intense weekend course for beginners. Let's discuss the possibilities!
