Gareth: I did sing in Llandaff Cathedral!! On that same trip/tour, I, along with Cor Cymraeg De Califfornia, sang in Aberystwyth: Llanbadarn Fawr; Harlech; St. David's Cathedral; Cenarth in Ceridigeon; Brecon Cathedral; St. Mary's Parish Church in Swansea; St. George's Cathedral in London; and the London residence of the US Ambassodor to the UK. We sang with Cor Meibion in Cardiff, Swansea and London; and also attended several Gymanfas in various locations in South Wales. Eluned Phillips, twice crowned the Bard of Wales, wrote lyrics to many of our pieces, and she lived (recently passed) in Cenarth, so we were so happy to visit her there although she came to the States every year to see us. One of our other lyricists lives in Harlech and teaches school there, so we gave a concert there, but all the others were extremely "large" concert events! I had been to Wales before this tour, and I hope to return soon, but with no present plans. My grandmother is from Swansea and grandfather from Cardiff, so lots of ties to South Wales, although, sadly, most are gone or disappearing now. When I do return, I will add you to my "visit" list, if I may - ?

Gareth: My father was born in Caerphilly so we are (sort of) neighbors! I have sung in the cathedral in Cardiff which is soooo interesting. I hope to visit again in the not-too-distant future. Cheers!

Hi Gareth .... Portland Oregon here. Originally from Cardiff. Croeso i Americymru. Gaabriel and I created this site less than a year ago as a Social and friendship site for the Welsh, Welsh ex-pats, persons of Welsh descent and Cymruphiles around the world. It has grown considerably since its foundation and we would like to extend a warm welcome to you....our latest member. Feel free to invite any friends that you think would be interested in joining. The network has many features which allow people with a shared love of Wales to communicate and share photos, videos, links, blogposts etc and we will be adding new features from time to time. Make yourself right at home. Once again...
