About Me:
I was born in Glanamman and grew up on a farm called Gelli Fawnen. I went to Glanamman Primary School, then Amman Valley Comprehensive in Ammanford. I went to college in Birmingham. My husband, Jeff, is from Pontardulais. We got engaged in Wales and left Wales in 1976 for South Africa. We got married four years later in Johannesburg and have lived here ever since. I work for the widely read black newspaper, Sowetan, as Senior Human Resources Officer. I still speak Welsh - haven't forgotten that!

Sounds good! There is someone from Llanelli working in the estate agent's office near Featherbrook who also stays in Horison View, she saw the Cymru sticker on the back of my car so she left a note on my windscreen! We should all get together! Will email you tomorrow, if I get a chance...

Hello and welcome, Irene! I hope you find a lot of people and things you like here. Please let us know if there's anything you think of that would make this site more more useful, more interesting or more fun. There are plenty of other Welsh speakers here, especially in the Welsh language group (in the Community tab above) and a learner's Skype group that meets, if you want more people to talk to. Again, welcome!
