Hi James ....just thought I'd draw your attention to this post:-

It's a great opportunity for Welsh bands to make their music more widely known in the US. Contact Sean Owens at IRFT Celtic Radio. Details on the blogpost.

Could there be an opportunity for a welsh tenor to perform in your area?

Well, I don't have anything that old, but my Grandmother took us to Philadelphia for a Gymanfa Ganu in the late '50's or early 60's.
What an experience for a young person.
I still have the booklet, Titled: Deuwch, Canwn I'r Arglwydd.
I use it to practice my Welsh vocabulary as it has the English next to the Welsh and the music on the same page. (not making too much progress.)
I guess you have seen alot of those, but this one is a precious connection to my grandmother.
With all these internet connections it seems like you may be able to find what you are looking for. Good luck.

Dear Friends,
I'm currently researching the gymanfa ganu in America before the 20th century. I'm looking for pre-20th century copies of programs from these events. If any of you have access to one please notify me.
I'm also looking for pre-20th century Welsh-American hymn tune books or info on them.
Many thanks!
Jim
