My grandparents came from the Rhondda Valley in 1911. I live in Michigan and am currently writing my family's history. I am interested in all things Welsh.

Llangynwyd is not far from us (about 8 miles) it has one of the oldest pubs in Wales there & i'm told it has some of the best bar meals around !!!
Are you planning to visit Bridgend & the Rhondda during your next visit to Wales ?
My Husband Colin (next comment down) has also done some work on his family tree, he's been able to go back to the mid 19C . Have you seen any of the census records you can get on line they are really interesting & also give an idea of the social condtions of the time ! better get going it's getting late over here.

Dan was born January 10, 1853 in Blaina, Monmouthshire, South Wales. I have some history but want to learn so much more about my Welsh heritage. I hope through networking I will learn more about my family and Wales.
