Celtic Tattoo Designs by Shane ClarkNo, I'm not acutally sure which part of Wales my family hales from. I'm doing some research on it and have family pictures and stuff posted on the Celtic Friends Network. Found out some pretty cool stuff so far. Not really sure what I am doing though. Luckily I have some advice that's helping.

So how can I hear your songs?

Hey Sweetie,
Thanks for the update.
You've GOT to post a photo - blonde wig an'all :O)
Best of luck with that project - it sounds like a lot of fun.

Thanks for voting on the John Lennon thing - today is the last day to vote! I'm glad it's over - been way too much work.

I'm playing a couple of big Texas music festivals next month, and then off to Crete in June for a couple of weeks to teach Greeks how to write songs - okay, and to sit on the beach and munch on mezedes and sip Ouzo :O) It's a rough life, but someone's got to do it.

Still looking to get back to the UK later this year - before it gets too bloody cold. I'll keep you up to date when I get dates etc.

Big hugs, David

Visit the Celtic Store!Hi Lorraine,
Thank you for the nice comment. I've been drawing Celtic art since I was a kid. I totally understand about not being the kind of person who gets tattoos. I really didn't want to get any myself, but did anyway to boost my sales at tattoo shops. Tattoo art isn't all I do. I also make embroidery patches and am getting into jewelry and leatherwork. Always busy, always learning.

That's so cool you live in Wales. That's where my family imigrated to the states from. I would so love to go back... atleast for a visit.

Peace be the journey,
Shane Clark

Once upon a time, I wrote a little piece here on Pnderyn, but with all the shuffling of the pages that Ceri has been doing, it got lost. He says he'll post it again, but in the meantime you might find this of some humor:

Just cut and paste this into your browser (I am not real good yet with the hyperlink thing... sorry)

Hi Lorraine,

So any chance of seeing you on this side on the pond any time soon? We were chatting about a few years back, cant remember why it fizzled out?

John Wake is on the site here somewhere too, good bloke, met up with him for a few pints in Chicago years ago.

Cheers

A good bottle of wine? Well, California does produce a lot of good wines and brandy, but don't forget that the Welsh now have Penderyn!
Cheers!

About Me:
Hi, I am a singer/songwriter from Wales and I love to write music about my country. I grew up in the folk music tradition so I guess my songs have an Welsh/Irish/Scottish feel to them. I have played the guitar since I was 7 years old and have written songs ever since. Currently I am writing my second Celtic album and its songs all about Wales but in the English language with some Welsh too, simply so that people around the world can understand what I'm singing about because I love songs with stories that make you weep or laugh out loud or just give a sense of peace, joy or contemplation. Gosh that sound high brow doesn't it!? Not like me at all, because I am never happier than leading a singing sesh in a pub with everyone joining in and having a good time. However I also am just as comfortable singing in prisons, Churches, theatres or wherever they'll have me. I've been a session singer for many years and have been involved with loads of projects (including an ABBA tribute band!) but nothing is as satisfying as people enjoying the music I write. I am a mad Welsh woman with a stupid wit and have been told that I am the most wired person they know who isn't on drugs! Thats because I enjoy what I do, and life is too short to moan...although its good to do that occassionally too. I love the singer songwriters of the early 70's such as James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell et al. and am heavily influenced by them.
What is your interest in or connection to Wales?
I am currently promoting my second album of songs about Wales in the English language

My first blog!

Hi everyone,
This is the first blog I have EVER done. Couldn't think of a better site to do it on. I love the ethos of this site and feel very connected to people even though we are miles apart. I am a singer/songwriter and I write songs about Wales in the English language purely because I want people from other countries to 'get' the stories, after all we all know about Loch Lomond and Athenry and Tipperary because we've sung about them.

Anyway, last Saturday I went to walk around the streets… Continue
