Well, I for one don't want an ipod. I love Lovespoons. I don't have any but that is on my list of things for my woodworker husband to try his hand at. Yours are gorgeous and the poor little girl is just a product of our society -- enough said on tha…

Well, very kind to credit me, but since I've been saying "it" I hear people tell me they heard their Nain and Tain say it....so it is I think a genuine Welsh proverb

Thanks for the note and the credit, but we're just the source. Se saw the quote in a "Speak Welsh" language book, but have since learned from others it is an old Welsh proverb. We are excited to hear about your geneaologoy work, it inspires us aw we both would like to find the time to search our ancestry too. And it takes "steady tapping" Dyfal donc a dyr y garreg"

It's a great saying, especially for slate people. Yes the language seems threatening, I too heard my family speak as a child and was fascinated. It's making more sense now, it does take a daily effort, and fortunately my wife enjoys speaking too. she is also of Welsh descent. Thanks for the note. Clark and Cindy

Hi Melissa,
I just saw your post on the genealogy board about your research around your G/grandmother Davis/Davies. My grandmother was a Davis but unfortunately I've not been able to get any further than my G/grandfather, who was born in England. I feel certain that they must hail from Wales due to the Davis name but have hit a brick wall for now. What was your G/grandmother's first name? If I come across anything I will let you know. My G/grandfather's name was John Alfred Davis, born in Belgrave, London in 1859 to George Davis and Martha Clara Walker. Let me know what you find out!

Hi Melissa and Croeso i Americymru..I will certainly check out your blog as soon as I get a chance. I remember Blaina well, it always seemed to be raining when I was there. But seriously I have a couple of good friends from that neck of the woods and I have fond memories of the South Wales valleys generally. Once again ...Welcome to Americymru.
