About Me:
I'm a native of Oregon, but my father's family comes from a predominantly Welsh community in southern Ohio. My great-great-great grandfather was born in Wales and came to America with his brother and grandmother. I don't know much about my heritage, my great-great-great grandfather was supposedly ashamed of being Welsh and left his grandmother and brother after having burned her lovespoon. That's what I've been told through the Jones family grapevine. My great-aunt remembers her father exclaiming in a fit of anger in a foreign language from time to time. Was it Welsh? Probably.

I'm currently a junior at Gresham High School and I am majoring in health, because I hope to become a registered nurse. I come from a big military family (on both sides) and I also wish to work as an RN in the army.

Welcome back! did you take pix? post 'em! got stories to tell? tell us all about it! did you get more family skinny while you were there? what does that monument say that you're next to? As you can see, it got more populated here and lots of interesting people and things. We went to the Gymanfa Ganu in Beavercreek and it was very nice but didn't make it to the Highland Games - went on the wrong day and then saw how much they were charging to get in, waaaaaay too much. Hope you had a great time in Ohio!

I found this, "Daffodil Soldier," on the reddragonhood.com site - is this the one you saw?

It's pretty cool - if this is it, I'd like to design a Daffodil Army one - that's a cool idea

"Yeah, we're Welsh. What's it to you?"

LOL!, yeah bay-BEE! That's good. I like "Daffodil Army," I'm going to look for those, that would be cool.

No, you're right, the Highland Games are Scottish but we've (Ceri's) been told to come and bring a "Welsh presence" and so I thought that would be funny. I found inflatable lambs on eBay (perfectly g-rated!)

and I thought it would be really funny to pump them up with helium and tie a ribbon on them like a leash and then tie them to our wrists and go! We could also wear daffodils (national flower of Wales) or something like that and get t-shirts printed. On our cafe press store (click americymru store button on top of pages) I made americymru tshirts and hats a "got Cymru?" tshirts and I'm going to do a baseball cap.
