My family arrived in Rhode Island from Wales about 350 years ago. But I still feel the connection. Apparently Hiraeth runs very deep. Hope to hear from any Connecticut Welsh. Learn the language and the music.

No, I haven't been able to locate a score of Maids Of Montgomery. I feel certain. though, that it IS the one called Llancesau Drefaldwyn - "Llancesau" being the Welsh translation for "Maids", and Welsh speakers always call the area of Montgomeryshire "Drefaldwyn". Of maybe it's Montgomery Town they're referring to?

Thanks for the welcome. So, you're familiar with the Hartt School. It's many years since I was a student there. Impressed that you're trying to learn Welsh. I do speak Welsh (both North and South Wales dialects), but I'm not at all sure how good a teacher I would be....I learned the language as a small child but only took it in school for a couple of years. I'm just wondering....saw that Rosetta Stone has a Welsh course. Rosetta Stone is supposed to be good.

I've made a few tries with books and online sites and have hoped to go take a study course, but haven't yet. I'd really recommend checking out some of the current Welsh music if you haven't! yet!
