At 3:20pm on September 25, 2008, Angela said…: yes it is! the Murrays from my Moms side of the family kind of lost track of where in Ireland they came from, only that they went to Canada durring the first potato famine, and then a few moved to Louisiana around the turn of the century. there are factions in the group that insist that it is a Scottish name, and we got it from being some of the Scotts that settled in Ulster. But I happen to know that it could be handed down from McMurrough. I understand that it is a very common name in the UK.
