The Chicago Tafia Welsh Society was founded in 1999 to cater to the local expatriated Welsh.

The Chicago Tafia meet up around once a month at one of the local British pubs or restaurants for a few pints, a bit of a chat and to help each other out with immigration concerns etc.

The Chicago Tafia aslo holds a number of other events throughout the year, including:

* Gatherings to watch Wales in the six nations and other sporting events.
* Gatherings to see Welsh bands on tour in Chicago.
* Saint David's day parties.
* The Chicago Celtic Festival in September.
* Bonfire/halloween night parties

Anyone is welcome to join the Chicago Tafia. Whether you've emigrated from Wales, are of Welsh descent, lived in Wales, worked in Wales or are just interested in Welsh culture.
