My sister should be replying to this. She has long been searching for information about this tribe. She has alot of information and would be very interested in this blog. She was the first in our family to grasp some of the Welsh phrases. Thanks f...

Attempt to change my profile photo and browse around a bit. Our weather is still mild, so outdoor chores call!

Beautiful! I usually take in a dog show this time of year but have my own circus now...when I took a break and saw these photos, I was delighted. Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful! I would love to be able to miss a place like this. We do have our lighthouses here though and I especially miss Barnegat and Cape May in NJ. I have never taken digital photos of them though. You have a good eye.

About Me:
After my children were raised, I had a longing for Wales and the stories my Grandmother used to tell.
An injury exiled me from my home state and I found myself in a place that had many of the Welsh type amenities like rocks, trees and winding creeks. There is a historic Welsh church in the area. Many of my neighbors are of Welsh decent and my homesickness for a place I have never been was assuaged.
I bought a small harp from an American Welsh store in the area and the internet has afforded me much bliss with the connections I can make to Welsh music, history as well as contemporary happenings in that country.
It is deeply gratifying to me to fill the Welsh void I had in my heart.
What is your interest in or connection to Wales?
The personal history of my ancestors and the current state of affairs in Wales is of interest to me.

Nice to hear from you and I'm very pleased you like the photos. The quote sounds very familiar, but I can't place it.
I'm horrified that you should be injured by a pesticide and stopped from following your inspiration. I would love to see some of your nature photographs. Could you post some on Americymru?
My own leadings are to do with the spirit in the natural world and began photography as means to celebrate that. Currently, I am widening my angle of view to embrace the embedded history in the landscape.

Thanks! I'm enjoying Hamilton immensely, and am about to start my fourth semester there. I took a creative writing class last semester and am taking a poetry class this semester, so I'm continuing to develop my poetry!

Hi,

What is the name of the Welsh church in the area?

I am putting together a list of Welsh connections in the US and would like to add it.

Dear Wild Cherry
It was such a treat to be taken for a burn up round CollegeTown in Ithaca on an Indian. A happy contrast to what happened last week. Last Friday, a week ago, I was involved in a bad car accident. My car is dead & am feeling very sorry for my self. No really badly hurt, thank God, but I ache all over, especially my chest. It was a combination of driving a little too fast on a wet road, wet leaves and a great big, huge, timber lorry being in the wrong place. Afterwards I looked across the meadow to see a wonderful double rainbow. God's message of hope. A costly and hurtful experience but we (me, dogs & lorry driver) are all alive.
I am going to donate a book to Americymru - perhaps you will win it!
God Bless
Valerie
