“.....credaf fod dyfodol yr Ysgwrn yn fater o’r fath bwysigrwydd cenedlaethol fel na ddylid dibynnu ar ffynonellau fel arian y Loteri i’w gynnal.....credaf fod cartrefi fel hyn yn bethau y dylai’r Adran Dreftadaeth, trwy Cadw, sicrhau eu dyfodol.

Almost 300 of you have signed the on line petition urging the The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to grant £50,000 for the upkeep of Hedd Wyn’s home, Yr Ysgwrn at Trawsfynydd. A huge THANK YOU to you all.
So where are we now?
What started my typing finger twitching initially was this statement in the Daily Post:

Yn codi ei awdurdod hell.
Pan deimlodd fyned ymaith Dduw
Cyfododd gledd I ladd ei frawd
Mae swn yr ymladd ar ein clyw
A’i gysgod ar fythynod tlawd.

Whilst at the National Eisteddfod a week or so ago I was told some disturbing news.
I don’t know if you’ve heard of a Private Ellis Humphrey Evans, 15th Battalion, Royal Welch Fusiliers. He was a son of Yr Ysgwrn, a small farm on the side of a mountain by Trawsfynydd, Meirionydd.
His poem “Yr Arwr” (The Hero) won the chair at the 1917 National Eisteddfod, Birkenhead.
The Archdru…

We have a chance to make a Welsh coalmining song, the “Song Of The Year” at this year’s prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
This is one of the world’s biggest contests.
My song “Take Us Down” is a Grand Prize Winner, and as such moves into a head to head on line vote out between two folk songs.
To hear the song, please go to - http://www.myspace.com/davidllewellynmusic – the song will fire up automatically.
We will need a lot of votes. Everyone can vote once a day – everyday – until t…

A message from Betty Belanus:-
I would like the members of Americymru who are at university or know a young person who might wish to know, about the opportunity to participate in our internship program this summer. A similar announcement has been made across Wales for students there, but we would also like to make stateside (and Canadian) students aware of the opportunity. Unfortunately the i
