hylo,brothers/sister's,

Has any one ever noticed when catalogs or tv etc advertise the uk its always either england, ireland, or scotland, but never wales. where ever sell tourist videos or guide books wales is not there. and when you type in uk or celtic catalogs you get irish, scots, england, no wales. now only if wales puts something out can you find something. so what does the world or at least this country have against wales? especially since she is refered to as [ the mother of the british Isles ]. sorry just venting.

Hwyl,steve

One thing we could use help with is suggestions for more books and authors to add to the bookstore - if you've got time, please have a look through it and make suggestions for anyone we should include so they can be added. There's also videos and music there and we want to make this totally inclusive - Welsh and Welsh-American.

Dom, do you have bed and breakfast places and groups listed, too? I know there's a bunch of nice looking farms you can stay at in the country, was looking at one in the Brecon Beacons, and that would be cool to be able to find easily.

Yes, I have and it bothers me too! I also get people who are surprised to learn there is such a country called Wales. I wear a Welsh wristband and oftentimes people think I'm supporting "Whales".

I agree about the Welsh thrust, I've been doing it for years and plan to do so until I am unable to.
One thing we may be proud of and many may not know is Wales is the only country that co-ruled with the Romans. Most of the countries the Romans invaded resulted in them taking the country over lock, stock, and government. However, Wales is the only country allowed to keep their chieftains and ruled side by side with the Romans - not an easy task for either party I'm sure, but one the Welsh should not let anyone forget.

HYLO,EVERYBODY,

THANK YOU EVERYBODY FOR YOUR COMMENTS,I REALLY FEEL AT HOME HERE, AND WITH FAMILY. I ALSO SHOP ALL THE TIME ON AMAZON, AND WILL BE SURE TO CHECK IT OUT. I THINK WE SHOULD THRUST WELSH CULTURE OUT INTO THE WORLD AND SHOW PEOPLE THE HISTORY AND BEAUTY OF WALES. AND ALL SHE HAS TO OFFER. NOT MENTION THAT WHILE THE ROMAN'SWERE CONQUERING THE REST OF THE UK THEY COULD NOT TAKE WALES. SO WE NOW ONLY HAVE THE BEST MUSIC,POETRY,MYTHOLOGY, BUT WE WERE ALSO WARRIORS,AND WE HAVE MERLIN/KING ARTHUR,AND AVALON.LOL BO BENDITH

Hi Steve ....couldnt agree more, and its for that very reason that we are in the process of setting up a dedicated Sore on Amazon which will sell exclusively Welsh products:- books, music etc. Weve only just started on this project but if you want to check our progress so far go to this url:-

http://astore.amazon.com/americymrucom-20?_encoding=UTF8&node=1

We hope to encourage people to buy, read and review works by Welsh authors and artists in an effort to encourage recognition of contemporary Welsh culture.

You can also get to the store from the "Stores" tab on the main navbar.

Steve, I couldn't agree more.I am a Welsh woman currently exiled in England, who writes romantic fiction for an American publisher. My book 'Dancing With Fate' is a fantasy set in 5th Century Celtic Wales, I notice whenever the Celts are mentioned, it's always with reference to Sootland or Ireland and I try to be patient when I explain that actually the Welsh have just as much of a Celtic heritage.

Tell me all, what would you lie to see listed?
I already have pubs & bars, accomodation etc for (almost) every city, town and village in Wales. Sections on both Welsh Food& Drink and Art & Crafts at http://www.welshicons.org.uk

What do you think we have missed out and what would you like to see added?

As a Welshman who lives in Wales I cannot agree more with you, and it makes my blood boil!. Wales has always been seen by the English and consequently by everyone else as just another English-shire where they spoke a funny dialect. Things are changing slowly, mainly through individual efforts and no thanks to the official bodies.
Nice to have a rant in common!
Pob hwyl,
Huw
