Geoff,
I received the book today, but can't get it out of my wife's hands. She thinks it wonderful. I think I'll have to get a magnifying glass to read it though.
There is no particular dedication. I bought it for myself. I saw it when I visited Wales, but decided that the money I would have to pay in additional airline luggage weight was more than the shipping.
By the way, I wasn't charged shipping. Please bill me and I'll cover it.
Dear Geoff - so glad I found you! I would like to send you some e-mails about my own few findings....compare notes. You have taken on a vast endeavor in collecting so much information, so oft neglected as a field of worthy interest here in America.
I love hearing that AmeriCymru members popped up in your audience -wow, small world, we're everywhere! Ceri and I are very happy to hear that the site is helping people find things like this and putting us all together. :)
I went to the Library in the Civic Centre in Swansea today to present a talk to a local history group. I decided to talk about two stories from Volume 1 - Margaret Williams and Sarah Jacob - and it seemed to be quite well received. Two of my small audience however introduced themselves to me as Americymru members! It has always been a small world but the internet seems to have made it even smaller.
Well, not so sure about the posh bit - I come from good old farmin' stock (with a few Preseli mountain ancestors thrown in)!! Thanks for the details about the book. I've managed to track it down on Amazon, and hope to get it in before we start this year's holiday lets at the beginning of next month.
Hope you're enjoying the lovely weather we've had down here recently!
I did indeed. Whilst researching my Masters thesis, I became fascinated with Welsh folklore, mythology and legend on a local level and your stories hit right on target. I'm putting away my pennies to buy your book. I look forward to reading it. I did listen to your tale of Jane Lewis, quite enjoyable. Keep up the good work!
Well it use to just put food on the table. My other job paid the bills. I work for the state and things certainly changed today, they've just cut everyone's wages. Never mind, it will all work out. Maybe it's time l sell everything up and move back to Britain, I prefer it there anyway.
I'm fascinated by your writing topic. I love to wander around old graveyards. There are quite a few here in America's South and I've enjoyed going through quite a few of them. I understand your passion and cannot wait to find your book.
