Hello from Burry Port,Wales!
Hi my name is Kelvin and I have just had a documentary shown at the British Film Festival in L.A.
It's about my Gran's cousin who was Wales' first silent movie star! His name was Gareth Hughes
While over in the states I spent some time in Bolinas where a relative of mine lives. Also had the chance to take a look around San francisco, what a city!!!
If you get the time please take a look at my website where you'll be able to see a clip from my documentary.
Splendid questions all... and I am not an expert on suchs questions. However there are some people who are coming to the Santa Cruz Mountains at the beginning of August who might be able to enlighten us both. See the video and the ad on my member page for more info, milady.
Bendithion,
Brian
Thanks for the kind offer of friendship, which I gladly accept. I don't mean to sound suspicious, but are you by any chance doing a documentary on druidry?
lol
Hwyl!
Brian
Hello Victoria,
It's a funny place this beautiful Wales of ours, I have moved away from it many times in my life, I have travelled around the world and stayed in places for months but I have always come back home to Wales.
Wow! It looks like I failed to greet you when you first came to this website, so please allow me to correct that unintentional oversight now: Hail and well met! Welcome to Americymru, soon to be your favorite website! Hopefully :-) Check out the various interest groups, and the videos and music... wonderful stuff. And there are a lot of nice people here too. Hope you like what you find! Blessings to you this day.

Yes the pipes stirr pride and valor in ones heart,i am new to this web site and adding friends that are alike minded, hope to have you as a friend
merry christmas!!
Hi Victoria, I watched the clips on Dowsing and The last Csar yesterday. Excellent. I especially enjoyed the Russian clip since it brought back lovely memories. I spent two months filming in St. Petersburg and Moscow in 1994 - very interesting and scary at times! The Russians are on the whole fantastic people.
Hi Victoria,
I hasten to point out that the video Welcome to Wales is not mine, I found it today on You Tube. By and large I agree with it's sentiments, but none of these things would have happened if we as a Welsh nation had not allowed them to happen. I'm afraid that there's no other nation on this earth that will so gladly put itself down. I can only point to the fact that our erstwhile rugby union almost fell over it's own grovelling tounge to name the trophy for the games between Wales and South Africa as the Prince William Cup. There was a far more obvious and deserving Prince of Wales and rugby who had just died that they could have named the cup after - Ray Gravell.
Sorry am I rambling?
Thanks for your comments,
Huw.
Hi Victoria,
I was wondering if I could draw you attention to the Shan Cothi Group that I have set up. Please visit, at the very least I think you'll find the video entertaining. If you find that it strikes a chord with your sentiments could you please give us as much publicity among your friends and colleagues as you possibly can.
Dioch yn fawr,
Huw
Hi, I was on Tam's page and saw that you mentioned Welsh classes.Speaking Welsh is one of the greatest pleasures of my life. I learned to speak Cymraeg in Wales. Now, I teach Welsh here in SF. I am not shamelessly plugging but wanted to contact you since I love the language and know what it's like to have to postpone the desire : (
I haven't taught in 2008 yet but will offer something in the fall. The challenge is getting enough people together in one place to make the class really dynamic. We need at least 8 people which "credwch neu beidio" (believe it or not) isn't so easy to get here in SF! So, keeping our fingers crossed the course may be able to run.
I'm doing a new structure which is less of a time commitment. With this change I'm hoping people will be encouraged to give it a go! I'll be posting the details on my page, but if you like I can also let you know when I solidify the details of the course.
Thank you, Ceri. What an amazing toy this internet is, connecting like-minded souls.
Wish I could speak Welsh but I know another word now, "Croeso"! I've been to Wales once and hope to get back there soon. Until then, I will enjoy the photos and thoughts on Americymru.
