Huw, the song you have playing with Llangwm male voice just melted me away, I haven't heard this before, she has a wonderful voice and it fits well with the choir....I got to go and have a cuppa to recover now.
Huw - wow, really is a small world, I was talking to my Dad last night and mentioned your kind note, and we were amazed, of all the tiny villages in the world! I love it.... yeah, and the spelling is quite a doozey!, my non-Welsh and non-Celtic friends have raised an eyebrow at that name, too....
You know, I've only been to Penisarwaun once... it was the third Sunday in March, 2005 (just days after Wales sealed the Grand-Slam v. Ireland!), one of the best, but most emotional days in my life... when I took a picture of Dad in front of St. Helen's (where my forefathers undoubtedly worshipped), i could scarcely hold the camera still, trembling with tears and mixed emotions...it's hard even now.... i laughed driving on the road out of town (straight to a pub in Caernarfon, if i'm being honest), that I felt like 'Sean Thornton' having just arrived for the first time in 'Innisfree' (from 1952's 'Quiet Man' of course!).... i'll take my sons ('Evan' and 'Owen Glyndwr') there some day, when they're ready.
I've selfishly rambled on long enough, sorry.... it's just here in California, I doubt exactly regularly get to converse with a gentleman such as you, about such things as 'Penisarwuan'..... Thanks, Huw!...
anyway, how are you this fine day? how's all in the homeland?
Huw - thanks for your note...actually, it was my grandfather Evan Ellis Parry, and his father (my great grandfather) of the same name who are from there.... but are long since gone. My Granddad emigrated to the USA on July 17, 1909 at the age of 17; some years later (once settled in America) he brought his parents over. He was an only child.... I have no known relative back there, but saw many headstone's at St. Helen's (?) bearing the 'Parry' name... maybe related? I don't know.... I'd be honored to hear any stories or names of friends you have/had there?
thanks,
William
ps - notice the tattoo in this pic bearing the "Parry" family crest...my wife HATES the tatt and this pic!
Hi Huw,
Thank you for making great dvd's I just purchased both of the new ones. I am co-chair of the Central Pennsylvania Welsh Society and will look forward to sharing these with my group. I also work at the Penn State University Libraries. I think they could use a copy. I will recommend it.

I'll be sure to look out for you, Huw, then you and I could have a drink together. You might like to check out Llantrisant Folk Club as well - we'ew been running for 29 years, still on Wednesdays, and the website is http://folkwales.org.uk
Everybody knows Wilky - especially the late afternoon/ early evening crowd. Gruff, swears like a trooper (although he's cut that down of late), loves his Pitchfork He nods approvingly: "Pitchfork is a lovely beer - it makes you shit, same as all good beers." Wilky loved that little article I wrote on The Boar's Head, for CAMRA's Pints West, and he's been egging me on to write another one.
hi huw.....i've just joined the site........live in ponty now......moved up from oxwich.......check out youtube/songstreetwales for a south pacific take on ar lan y mor.......hwl.......gwyncy

Fantasy on Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau hit me at the very core, the sound of those strings gave me goose bumps. You do manage to put some cracking tunes on here Huw.
I have just viewed Wales Two heroes and Treasures produced by Huw once again he has captured the true beauty and soul of Wales and this time woven it with magical tales,an outstanding production which I would reccomend to all welsh men and women at home and abroad
Hello, Huw! Thanks for contacting me. I am relatively new to this group and am glad to make connections and friends. When my script finally gets financing, maybe we can work together!

I'm new to blogs, so excuse the delay in a response. I live on the East coast of the US, midway between New York and Florida, in a small town called Wilmington, North Carolina.
It surprises me every time, when I get all choked up hearing the language and the music of Wales. Thanks. I hope to learn Land of my Father's in the proper language.
Diolch yn fawr, Huw, for taking the time to let everyone know about Shan and her dear late husband, Justin!
She must be a fantastic singer--I haven't heard her sing yet and I'm a real big sucker when it comes to music--especially great music!
Your profile says that you are a freelance actor--then you must be familiar with Ioan Gruffudd--he and his lovely bride, Alice Evans, are living in Los Angeles now and I love his movies and i also saw his wife Alice in the Christmas Card and she did a fantastic job!
Anyway thanks again for inviting me to be your friend and of course i said yes!
Iechyd da!
